# Get a profile's trait change history

> Returns the append-only ledger of trait value transitions for the contact identified by your user_id (external_id), newest first — the audit timeline that answers "when did `lifetime_orders` flip from 3 to 8 and what triggered it?". Filter to one trait with `?trait_name=`, page with the composite `?cursor=` from each response's next_cursor (preferred) or the legacy `?before=` ISO timestamp. Requires owner/admin/developer + contacts:read.
