# Update a computed-trait rule

> Applies a partial update to one computed-trait rule identified by `:id` — any of name, description, output_tag, predicate, or enabled. A supplied predicate is re-validated for depth and leaf budget before it is stored, and a changed `output_tag` must stay unique. Use it to edit a rule or toggle it on/off. Returns the updated rule; an unknown id is 404 and a duplicate tag is 409. Owner / admin / developer only.
